Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of hair tonics (JW12¢ç) to prevent and stop hair loss, and restore hair growth. JW12¢ç compounds was made from natural plants, several oriental herbs and alginates from fresh brown seaweeds and tangles. Products extracted at low temperature based on Nano-extraction method providing active and living ingredients that are not destroyed by hot temperature. There were four experimental groups including saline (negative control), 50% ethanol (vehicle control), M product and JW12?. The hair regrowth was determined photographically and histologically and analysed by high quality hair analysis program system (PSI-2003). The topical treatment of JW12¢ç for 2 weeks to dorsal skin accelerated hair regrowth faster than the controls. The JW12¢ç treatment also promoted hair follicle elongation, hair density and thickness compared to the controls. These results suggest that JW12¢ç hair tonics have hair growth promoting activities and might be useful for treatment for baldness or alopecia.
